Community groups
With so many opportunities to learn and enjoy during a visit to the Farm we hope you will come and meet us in the very near future. The charge for community groups is £40 per hour. At Woodlands Farm we offer a number of different activities for community groups. These can be tailored to suit the needs of your group. Activities available include:
Pond dipping
Investigate what lies beneath the surface of our pond. Using pond nets and identification sheets the students can discover all about pond life - amphibians and invertebrates.
Farm Tour
An opportunity to meet our farm animals as we take you on a guided walk round the farmyard. See the sheep and pigs as well a meeting our pony, chickens and guinea pigs. There will be a chance for the group to handle some of the animals.
Orienteering
This session covers map and compass skills, it can be done as a full day workshop or alternatively as a course of 5 workshops covering map and compass use as well as orienteering terminology. This can be done as part of a GCSE PE course or just for fun!
Wild Arts and Crafts
Have a go at traditional crafts such as willow weaving, wool spinning and crafts, felt making and corn dollies. There is an additional charge of £10 for this session to cover material costs.
